The General McGregor Laser sword (Chrome Steel Control Box) B-Grade
PLEASE NOTE. THESE ARE B-GRADE SABER HILTS. THIS MEANS THAT THERE MAY BE SOME BLEMISHES IN THE METAL FINISHING OR PAINT APPLICATION THAT BUYERS WILL NEED TO ATTEND TO THEMSELVES IN BUILDING PROCESS.
After completing a small run own these sabers last year, we're pleased to offer up a few remaining General McGregor Laser swords. This replica is based upon the sci-fi film prop offered up for sale by Prop Store in 2020. However, this version will be different from previous year's offering in that it is now a full metal construction with a chrome steel control box replacing the resin version.
What makes this variant quite unique is that it replicates the look of the original filming props and also allows for FX installation, without adding additional set screws, or visible sound vent holes—which would sacrifice accuracy. The main body is CNC-machined aircraft aluminum. The black sections are satin anodized. The neck features a dark, multi-layered paint application. The control box is a chrome-plated steel piece. Our design is based on measurements taken directly from production-made assets. We've gone the extra mile to preserve the dimensions and finishes of the original prop, while still allowing for FX installation should the buyer choose to modify the build. Each saber includes an FX emitter to allow you to add a blade if you so choose, without losing the accurate look of the original.
(Please note that these sabers had some inconsistencies in thread clocking, so I've included some o-rings to help you clock the covertec and grip position where you choose. Also, in contrast to my earlier offering, these kits will come with the copper and steel greeblies and brass activation card in a loose bag--unassembled on the saber. You can easily secure them to your build with a small bit of hot glue applied inside the clamp section. This change was made in response to some FX builders requesting the kit unassembled, rather than glued into place upon arrival.)
This is the tail end of a very limited production run. So, don't miss out.
